The proposal of the project was to create an Interpretation center , in Badami . Badami ,Bagalkot district was the regal capital of the Chalukyan empire and played a key role in the political , architectural and civil evolution of the Indian sub- continent. It is located in a ravine at the foot of a rugged, red sandstone outcrop that surrounds Agastya lake. Badami has been selected as one of the heritage cities for HRIDAY (Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana) scheme of Government of India.
RECEPTION
SITE
The site is 1.5 Acres in area with a solid sandstone rock structure and sparse vegetation . The climate conditions are extremely dry and hot .
CONCEPT
The golden ratio concept was used to design the structure , making sure that proportions and scale of the project should not take away from the picturesque backdrop and raw setting of the place.
